The LMC reports its own status alongside the chargers' statuses. These codes are visible in the LMC's status view and in its status history, and they are the quickest way to understand why load management is behaving as it is. They are separate from the charger error codes in Troubleshooting VOOL charger: Error Codes.
Code | Severity | What it means |
1 — power meter communication fault | Error | The grid power meter is not delivering measurements, or reports a fault. Load management is running without its main input — contact us. |
2 — ripple control active | Warning | Your utility is signalling that charging should be held off. This is external to VOOL and clears by itself. |
100, 101, 102 — phase suspension on L1, L2, L3 | Warning | Load management suspended charging on that phase to stay within the site's limit. This is the system protecting your main fuse, and it is the usual explanation for charging that slowed down or paused. The detail lists which chargers were affected. |
103 — suspension avoidance | Information | The algorithm is running in a low-current mode that deliberately avoids suspending vehicles. Charging is slow but stable, on purpose. Visible only on the device itself. |
104 — charging disabled by power sharing | Warning | Equal power sharing temporarily disallowed one or more chargers, because splitting the available current further would have left every car below the minimum. |
105 — all phase voltages absent | Error | A charger reports no voltage on any phase while connected. This should not happen in normal operation — contact us with the site and serial numbers. |
106 — phase switch | Warning | Load management switched a charger between single-phase and multi-phase charging. A momentary event, and normal on a busy site. |
How to read them
Only one status is reported at a time — the most serious one currently active. A cleared status is reported explicitly, so a site that goes quiet is a site with nothing wrong.
Information-level codes stay on the device. Code 103 will never appear in the platform; look in the LMC's own status view.
The timestamp is when the condition started, not when the message was sent.
The LMC keeps a history of its recent status episodes, which is often more useful than the current state when a problem is intermittent.
Why phase suspensions are usually not a fault
A vehicle cannot charge below 6 A per phase — around 4.1 kW on three phases. When the spare capacity on a phase falls below that for a few seconds, the LMC disables that phase rather than offering a current the car will refuse; it re-enables it once there has been enough headroom for about a minute. On a site where consumption moves around — a heat pump, an oven, another car — you will see phases come and go. That is load management doing its job.
If phase suspensions appear when the building is obviously idle, that is worth reporting: it often means the current transformer clamps are reading the wrong way round, which we can correct in software while the LMC is online.
