Automatically configure the LMC and charger setup on the VOOL platform for quicker and easier site setup. Once the devices are connected and powered up, simply press the "Auto-configure" button on the VOOL Portal or the VOOL mobile app to ensure proper configuration.

Automatic Configuration on the VOOL Portal

On the site view click on the menu icon next to the LMC to access the automatic configuration feature.

Automatic Configuration on the VOOL Mobile App

Prerequisites

  • The LMC needs to run on firmware version 4.0.0 or higher.

  • The site has been set up on the VOOL platform, and the LMC and chargers need to be linked to the site.

  • Chargers are added to the LMC group.

  • CAN/LAN cabling is completed and connected to the necessary devices.

  • The VOOL mobile app needs to be updated to the latest version.

Use Cases for Automatic Charger Configuration

  • The LMC is connected to the charger via CAN, and the charger is not directly connected to the Internet.

  • The LMC is connected to the charger via CAN, and both are on the same LAN, making them visible to each other on the local network.

  • The LMC is connected to the charger via LAN (wired or wireless), and the devices are visible to each other on the local network. The charger may also have LTE active, which does not affect the auto-configuration in this case.

The Automatic Charger Configuration Won't Work in the Following Cases

  • The LMC is connected to the charger via CAN, with LTE being the charger's only active connection.

  • Although both the LMC and charger are on the same LAN, they are not visible to each other due to an isolated AP configuration.

Potential Outcomes

  • Success - All devices added to the LMC group were successfully configured.

  • Partial - Configuration was successful for some devices in the LMC group, while others were not configured. The unconfigured devices are not communicating with the LMC. Further investigation, including checking physical connections, router configuration, or additional inspection, is required.

  • Failure - None of the devices under the LMC group were successfully configured. This indicates that none of the devices are communicating with the LMC. Further investigation, including checking physical connections, router configuration, or additional inspection, is necessary.
