VOOL allows you to assign roles with specific permissions to ensure that each team member has the right level of access to devices, billing, and workspace settings.

User roles

Role

Description

Owner

Full access to everything across the workspace, including billing and user management.

Admin

Full access to everything across the workspace, including billing and user management.

Member

Can charge and view essential company-related data.

Installer

Can set up devices and sites. Primarily used for hardware and site setup.

Charge-only member

Can start charging sessions via charge.vool.com. No access to the VOOL mobile app or VOOL portal.

There is a sixth role, and roles are not the whole story
A Workspace manager role also exists, for people who should run access, settings and billing without being able to change the physical setup of a site. And separately from roles, a member's group is what decides which chargers they can actually use — which is the more common cause of “I can see the charger but cannot start a session”. Both, plus how to leave a workspace, are covered in Workspace manager, groups, and leaving a workspace. The tables below cover the five roles above.
