The VOOL mobile app and its Smart Charging feature will save you money by automatically selecting the cheapest hours for charging.

When you set up the Smart Charging feature on the VOOL app, we provide an estimate of the savings you can expect in your local currency. Moreover, you can easily track your monthly savings summary on the Insights view.

For each smart charging session, VOOL calculates the estimated session cost in two scenarios: one where the charging is not paused during high-cost hours, and another where the charging is done continuously without interruption.

For instance, to charge 30 kWh, it typically takes around 3 hours.
​

Now, if the EV owner were to charge from 17:00-20:00, let's say the cost would be €6, considering that the electricity from 19:00-20:00 was the most expensive.

However, if a user were to set up smart charging on the VOOL app and define the maximum kWh price setting, the charging would pause from 19:00-20:00 and resume to finish at 21:00. In this scenario, the cost would be €5 because the charging was paused during the expensive hour.

And from this, we can estimate the Smart Charging session saving to be €1 (€6 - €5).
