Here’s a summary of VOOL product updates from September 2024.
VOOL Portal
OCPP v1.6 variables sidebar has been released on app.vool.com
For OCPP v1.6 chargers, the new sidebar now displays all variables and their values simultaneously, rather than showing one variable at a time in a modal. Users can search, modify multiple variables, and update their values on the charger with a single click. However, due to OCPP v1.6 limitations, the values are still sent to the charger individually.
This feature is available for installer accounts only!
VOOL Mobile App 3.0 Release
The VOOL mobile app underwent extensive maintenance to enhance the overall charging experience.
What’s New
Choosing between one-time and automatic charging modes is now simpler.
We’ve introduced new smart charging strategies:
A simple price-based charging strategy that no longer requires linking your EV.
Solar smart charging by integrating with your inverter ☀️.
Scheduling smart charging based on your EV's battery state of charge (SOC) and desired end time is now more convenient.

Charger Firmware 1.9.7 Release
Improved charger stability with the release of firmware version 1.9.7.
Key updates:
Improved front-panel update success, even with weak internet connections.
Enhanced cellular connectivity reliability in areas with poor signal strength.
Added support for external power and current limit parameters via OCPP.
Fixed a rare issue that could cause MCU firmware corruption during updates over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cellular connections.
Implemented real-time clock management fixes to prevent inaccurate time readings and incorrect transaction timestamps.
Added external power and current limit functionality.
Improved internal load management for smoother operation and reduced switching between charging and suspended states.
These are just a few of the many improvements in this update, which is recommended for all VOOL chargers.
The LMC Firmware Update: 4.6.1
This important milestone includes:
Network Manager updates and fixes for Wi-Fi hotspot functionality
Complete overhaul of multilevel load management logic
The LMC will automatically update during the next power cycle.
Partner Portal
For VOOL partners, installers and resellers there's now a new application available to monitor.
The VOOL Partner Portal provides resellers and installers with comprehensive access to their previous installations, enabling proactive monitoring and efficient troubleshooting of installed devices. This ensures a quick and convenient resolution of client issues.
With the VOOL Partner Portal, resellers can:
Monitor and manage their installed devices, including reviewing logs and adjusting configurations
View and manage clients' workspace setups
